Merry Christmas

Olbia, Christmas 2007

Dears Friends,
Christmas is nearly here, and we are speaking on behalf of our 700 dogs, the 700 dogs of the Shelter, I FRATELLI MINORI, of Olbia.
Dear friends, looking at our web site, you can see, how hard we have been working. We have chosen to work hard for those most vulnerable creatures that this evolved society considers inferiors: abbandoned dogs.
Of course if we were concentrating our efforts in people rather, we have had lot of responces. Because what seems to really matter in this society are the apperances.  Looking after abbandoned animal, instead, put you certainly down to the eyes of certain people. For us it's not like that.
Dogs are looking only for the love of a friend. A friend that makes them feel loved and understood, proud to be with him, and to whom give all themselves. Dogs don't ask, they give rather without expecting nothing in exchange.
They rappresent what a person can't ever be or become: A PURE CRETURE, SOMETHING IN THE MIDLE BETWEEN AN ANGEL AND A CHILD, it used to say TOTO' a famous italian actor.
That person who never had a dog, to share the days, the joy, the walks, the games, the bed moments, and never whached his eyes, that person, will never understand who we are and what we are doing.
Dogs observe us and Know everything there is to know about us. They are like creatures blessed by an ancient wisdom, that cames from very far. Silent witnesses of our vices, our wiknesses, our fears. They have a right to live a life with dignity and respect, as they are always been best friends of humans. To our dogs has been taken away everything: food, love, respect and a space to live free and safe. That's why we exist and fight. But we need you to keep us hoping.
Try and come here, at the Shelter, and look at those faces. They have been abbandoned by their best friends, but they are still hoping. Hoping that one day someone can come to free them and be again a best friend. No one of them will spare you a sign of their joy in meeting you.
Come and see them and you'll understand that we cannot abbandon them again!
I wish all of you a happy Christamas and may the New Year bring you Joy and Happines. From Maria Grazia, Cosetta, Sara e Sergio.
